It’s well known that I LOVE the Fringe Festival.

I love the atmosphere it brings to Adelaide. I love to the eccentric and fun shows that fill some of Adelaide’s best venues. But most of all. I love the food. Oh god damn how I love the food.

While the Fringe Festival is on you’ll generally find me in the Garden of Unearthly Delights, with a drink in hand and within equal parts walking (or rolling) distance to food trucks. If you like a tipple and a pre-show feast then check out this list- because no one has time to waste eating rubbish food.

Gyoza Records– If you like Japanese food then pop into Gyoza Records. As the name states, it has Gyoza, and it’s pretty bloody delightful. The pork and chives are a no brainer, and i’ve also heard good things about the vegan option.

PIMMS bar– If you love a cup (or jug) of PIMMS then this is the best seat in the house. Cosy chairs, enough room for the girls and a plenty of sweet photo ops for the ‘gram.

The Yeeha bar (the timber bar with hanging seats)- This is my pick for large group gatherings. We went here with a group of 10 and it was perfect- good beer close by, long tables with ample seating for big groups and close to the Box Office for spontaneous show bookings. Only downside- you have to walk uphill to food. (Disclaimer, it’s not really much of a hill, but when you’ve had a few, then everything seems difficult).

Corn Star- Hot corn on a stick, grilled and covered in butter and garlic. Please and thankyou.

Donut Diner– Two reasons two visit- delicious hot cinnamon donuts and the guy working the till is hilarious. Who seriously doesn’t love cinnamon donuts?!

Poffertjes– Everybodies favourite dessert in the garden. Tiny pancakes, covered in Rum Butter and Fresh Cream and icing sugar- how could you go wrong? You can’t.

Pineapple Brothers–  If the atmosphere of the garden doesn’t get you going, then 2 shots of spiced rum and fresh pineapple will. Find them near the decking area near the coffee stand and Gyoza records.

Caro Club– You got me at tater tots, spicy fried BBQ chicken wings and Mexican cheeseburgers. The wings are a must (be sure to grab plenty of napkins).

King Creole– If you are a fan of fried chicken then you need to visit King Creole- seriously crispy chicken with a super tender inside, and the most moreish dipping sauce.

Bao Brothers Eatery– If you love Bao Buns you need to come here. I won’t say anymore than that.

The Veggie Galley– Veggie burgers and some of the best sweet potato fries getting around. It will even have meat eaters who are scared of vegetables converted.

Pigs on Fire– A giant hanging BBQ with pigs heads and various porkish parts hanging from it. That’s Pigs on fire. Their display may be a little confronting for vegans, but I can confirm that their Rolls and cups of Pork Crackling are the bees knees.

That Aranchini Guy– If you like gnocchi and balls of deliciousness then get in line. The ragu and mushroom, truffle and mozzerella aranchini is so damn good.

Paella– Chorizo, vego- the list goes on. The boys have told me that this Paella is delicious- when I saw them eating it, i’ll admit, I had food envy. Loaded with plenty of veggies, meat and packed full of flavour- it’s on my list of things to eat.

Have you been to the Garden of Unearthly Delights recently? What’s your favourite place to get a feed? I’d love to know!
