Babymoon 2.0- The Twin Edition

It’s that time again- madly googling places to stay for an upcoming baby moon (aka just a great excuse to take a staycation).
We are so grateful and very excited that our 17th and 18th round of IVF worked, and still can’t believe that we are expecting twins at the start of December 2022. Needless to say, I think a bit of time to relax will be needed before the craziness arrives!

I put the call out on social media and have been down a baby moon rabbit hole of all the best places to stay for a mini vacay/baby moon, and this is what I’ve come up with.
I also did a list a few years ago before we had Raven with more options- you can read it here.

Grass Tee Gully

Immerse yourself in nature, sit by the wood fire and take in the epic views of the Deep Creek Conservation Park. Cosy up by the wood fire, hike or 4X4 down to one of my favourite secluded beaches (Blow Hole Beach) or sit outside by the fire pit. This place is the ultimate nature getaway.

The Shell Collector

In the heart of Port Noarlunga, the Shell Collector is all about winding down, taking it slow and disconnecting. Only a few minutes walk from the iconic port Noarlunga stairs and beach, beautiful cafes, health food shops and retail outlets. It’s the perfect place for a babymoon or just staycation in general!

Lost Retreats

Boasting three beautiful retreats in picturesque locations- Willunga, Mt Jagged and Mt Osmond. Think surrounded by nature, outdoor baths, lush finishes, small and cosy. These have been on my must visit list since they opened. The views look exceptional.

Shadow Creek Mclaren Vale

We have been lucky enough to stay at this beautiful place, and would visit again in a heartbeat. Order an in home pregnancy massage, soak in their bath that takes in the sunset over the vines, have a picnic in the vineyards or relax by the fire (that also opens to the bedroom!) Yes please.

Ukiyo House

Thoughtfully designed and decorated, with everything you could possibly need. Think French linen, a gin bar with lush tonics and garnishes, a woodfire, firepit and walking distance to one of the best restaurants on the Fleurieu Peninsula- The Star of Greece. I’ve been following their Instagram during their build and can’t wait to visit one day.

Camel Beach House

I had never heard of this place until someone recommended it, and now i’ve seen it, can someone PLEASE tell me why I haven’t?! Soaking in views of the Southern Ocean in one direction and sand dunes in the other, this place seems breathtaking. 250 acres of complete privacy, a combustion fire and no TV- it sounds like the ultimate place to wind down and disconnect.

Kings Beach Retreats

3 incredible places to stay, all with jaw dropping views. Words cant describe the photos and there’s a reason why this place is always heavily booked. A friend recently went with family and they said their stay was absolutely magical.

The Jetty Port Willunga

Boutique, beautiful beach front accommodation which may as well be on Port Willunga beach it is that close. Metres away from the Star of Greece, king size beds, a huge bath tub and the option of a delicious platter on arrival. What’s not to love?!

Sequoia

Everything about Sequoia oozes perfection- the Hardys Verandah restaurant, onsite Day Spa, allocated time in a private infinity pool, stargazing, a big beautiful freestanding bath and some of the best views in the Adelaide Hills from your deck. This looks like the place to splash out and treat yourself, and what better reason than carrying a little human (or in my case 2) in your belly.

EOS by Skycity

Boasting some of the best views in Adelaide, EOS offers a range of rooms with some of the most fanciest of furnishings. My eyes are on the Radiance River Suite- a deep bath with views of the city, on site spa, luxury amenities, incredible breakfast options and unlimited movies- you won’t even need to leave your room. Their bed and breakfast experience also looks pretty incredible, especially if youre a sucker for a great brekky.

The Frames

A luxurious, completely private retreat on the Murray River. A private heated outdoor pool, the option of a gondola ride at sunset or 5 star meals delivered and a sunken spa- what more could you need. The photos look absolutely amazing!
