Earth bowls, raw treats, almond milk made on site.

I’m talking about Glenelg’s healthiest hideaway- Raw Conscious Eatery

Tucked in a little shopfront just off of the bustling Jetty Road, Raw Conscious Eatery is a healthy foodies dream come true. It’s also a minimalist interior lovers dream come true- the fit out has a Scandi feel, with plenty of white and timber making you relax as soon as you step foot in the door.

I stopped in for a solo brunch date with magazine in hand and was greeted with a huge smile as soon as I walked inside. This little haunt was buzzing and the general feel of the place is a cheery and positive one. I snatched a spot on the bench by the window and pondered over the clipboard menu that was pages long. There’s a page dedicated to ‘savouries’- think smashed avocado, veggies burgers, winter soups and curries, with the choice of added extras like kimchi and hommus for a small fee.

The menu then turns sweeter (the dairy free, vegan, sugar free type of sweetness) where you can choose from Gelato, raw cakes, Granola and Acai bowls and even a Coconut porridge. On my radar is the tasting plate which showcases a mixture of the delicious treats from the dessert bar for $32- perfect to share with a friend over coffee.

When it comes to drinks you will find a huge list of smoothies and cold pressed juices- I had the Acai Glow smoothie on one occasion and it was berry delicious (pun intended). For those who like it hot the espresso machine uses beans from Adelaide’s Monastery Coffee or tea addicts will be delighted with organic Love Tea on the menu. Milk lovers will be delighted to know that they use Fleurieu Milk Company in their brews, or you can have the option of their almond milk which is made in house.

But back to the food- After much debate (and ogling over other people’s meals) I ordered a almond milk latte and a Earth bowl. The almond milk latte was super tasty. It was nutty and sweet and went perfectly with the coffee which was nice and strong (no bitterness here).

The Earth bowl  was huge and to be honest I left a fair bit of it as I was so full! Visually it was super appealing- the bright green smoothie blend was served on a timber board and was topped with plenty of little extras. The flavour was just as good- nice and thick and didn’t melt the whole half hour I nursed it. The caramelised Buckinis, Coconut flakes, Pepitas, Chai seeds and Banana added so many different textures and flavours to the smoothie bowl- I loved it.

Just before I walked out the door I had to snag a Peanut Butter Bliss Ball- it didn’t even make it to the car it was that good.

I can’t wait to eat my way through this menu- they are taking the taste of healthy and raw food to another level.

You can find Raw Conscious Eatery at 2/2 Chapel Street, Glenelg
