If you are in the burbs are looking for a damn good coffee, then you need to get acquainted with

the Good Day Co.

Tucked away in the industrial estate in Somerton Park, the Good Day Co is a café, awesome little hangout and a shoe lovers heaven all combined into one. After owners Amy and Ben Stephan saw a gap in the market and were sick of the commute to Glenelg and Brighton to get caffeinated, Good Day Co was born.

In terms of interiors, you are going to be woo’ed. The walls are lined with timber (thanks to Ben, who’s rather handy with a nailgun), and there’s plenty of natural light beaming in.

Walking into the café feels very ‘Melbourney’, and let’s just say it was love at first look. Apart from timber, there is plenty of greenery, with plants popping out from every corner of the café. You’ve also got plenty of seats on long tables, along with some very cosy chairs to sip your brew in. If you have kids in tow don’t worry- they even have a dedicated kids table and nook with games, books and chalk to keep busy.

Coffee addicts will be pleased to see local roasters Kommon Grounds running through the machines, dropping beans at their door weekly so you’re getting the freshest of roasts. Good Day is a strong supporter of small, local businesses, with protein balls from Protein Ball Adelaide and sweet treats from From the Wild- Shanti Wilby the raw treat QUEEN. They also stock pastries, savoury delights (think wraps and pita) and mortgage friendly smashed avo and bruschetta.

Whilst waiting for your coffee you will easily be drawn to the great wall of shoes (or maybe it’s just me). These guys are clearly sneaker freaks, and I’m embracing it. They have some amazing brands including New Balance, Converse, Vans and Saltwater Sandals. Saltwater Sandals are my all-time favourites and are so damn comfy and are perfect for beachside life. Keeping in theme with the ocean, they also stock Sun Bum sunscreen which is the best in the biz and doesn’t have any nasties. Win win.

If you are looking for a cosy café that stocks all the goods, and also makes you feel like you’re sitting in the middle of a beautiful nursery then check out Good Day. And good luck not buying 20 plants when you visit.

You can find Good Day Co at 4 Wilton Avenue, Somerton Park
