Those who know me well know I LOVE Christmas.

I love the decorations, the gift-giving, family-hangs and of course, the food.

Eating and gifting food at Christmas time (well anytime) is one of my favourite things to do, as is shopping locally. We have so many incredible small businesses and producers here in SA so it would be crazy not to get behind them.

Here’s my foodie Christmas Wishlist- I could go on forever but these are just some of my favourites.

beston

Hampers from Beston Marketplace

Beston Marketplace is heaven for foodies who love convenience and local and delicious produce. They stock everything from meats, seafood and ready-made meals, as well as picnic supplies and pastas.

On my Christmas wish list is their ‘Cheese Gift Collection’ containing all the ingredients for the perfect cheese platter. If salmon, SA hard and soft cheeses, honey, chocolate dipped apricots, cured meat, South Australian quince and crackers are your thing then you’re going to LOVE this.

Price– $69.00 plus shipping

Sweet treats from Four Winds Chocolate

Four Winds Chocolate is my favourite chocolatier and patisserie on the Fleurieu. Wendy Ashwin, queen chocolate maker and baker, makes the most delicious sweets and turns chocolate into works of mini art. This year for Xmas she has a whole range of goodies on offer, from family staples like fruit mince pies, to edible decorations.

On my Christmas wish list is their edible chocolate baubles and Christmas trees made out of milk chocolate. The baubles come in a variety of colours and sizes and are made of delicious chocolate. They make the perfect gift or a cute addition to the tree (if you can resist eating them). The trees are made in a range of flavours, from speckles to turkish delight. They’d make a perfect centrepeice that you can eat after dinner.

Price-baubles from $2.50, christmas trees from $50.00

Breakfast essentials from The Food Curators

If you haven’t heard of The Food Curators then you need to get acquainted. I found Melanie and Jennifer through Instagram and fell in love with their account tenfold. These girls post drool worthy photos, recipes and city guides for food enthusiasts. Apart from the social side, these ladies are kitchen wizzes.

On my Christmas wish list is their range of home-made brekky (or anytime) goods. Their Fancy Bircher and Maple & Tahini Muesli is what dreams are made of, and their Peanut Butter will have you ditching the supermarket stuff in a flash.

Food According to Bree Ketchups

If you love ketchups that are packed full of flavour, then you need to try Food According to Bree’s 3 sauces. The My Kitchen Rules star is a mastermind in the kitchen, so if course her homemade products are the bomb.

On my Christmas wishlist is her trio of ketchups, especially her Smoked Ketchup made in the Adelaide Hills. It’s best lathered on just about anything and perfect for summer barbecues. Her other ketchups include a Chilli ketchup and a Curry Ketchup- a bit hotter and perfect for those who love a bit of a kick.

Sneaky drinks from the Chesterfield Whiskey Firm

I stumbled across Chesterfield Whiskey Firm the other week at the ‘producer in residence’s stall at the Adelaide Central Markets. I wish I found them sooner! These guys are based in the Adelaide Hills and they offer everything from whiskey and cocktail packs to tasting packages paired with cheese and chocolate.

On my Christmas wish list is their Sparkling Pavlova Kit- a combo of Bird in Hand bubbles, raspberries, fairy floss and spirits to make a cocktail that tastes just like a pav.

The Carob Kitchen bears

It tastes like chocolate but it’s healthy. At first I didn’t believe it, but now I’m hooked on the Carob Kitchens goodies. They are made here in SA, on the Fleurieu Peninsula, and are a fab alternative to sweet blocks of choccie.

On my Christmas wish list are their range of Banjo Carob Bears. They are super affordable, cute and come in three flavours- the original carob, mint carob and newly added coconut carob. They also have the same flavours in carob bars, with an additional flavour of Carob Almond.

Price– Banjo bears from $1.20, bars from $5.50

Coffee making classes at From Humble Grounds

If you’ve been to the Willunga Farmers Market then there’s no doubt you’ve heard of From Humble Grounds coffee. Their coffee cups are firmly in the hands of many market goers and when you try their brews you’ll understand why.

On my Christmas wish list is their newly released Coffee Making Courses. Courses are run by Rebecca Moore, aka my barista queen. She will guide you through a intimate and fun coffee experience in Mclaren Vale, where she will teach you how to ‘brew like a pro’. Perfect for coffee enthusiasts, a unique gift or people like me who try and master latte art and fail oh-so-badly.

Price– different courses on offer, see their facebook page for vouchers/ more info.

Hampers from Maggie Beer online

Maggie Beer is one of my food idols. A few years ago we visited her farm shop and I feel in love with her even more (I didn’t think it was possible). Her online store is the perfect place to stock up on all things Maggie- from caramels to cookbooks.

On my Christmas wish list is her range of fabulous hampers. The “Yuletide Cheer Hamper” is filled with all my favourites-  the sparkling rube carbernet, quince and spiced pear paste, salted brandy caramel, dark chocolate and vino cotto caramel and brunt fig jam. My stomach’s rumbling already.

Price– the Yuletide Cheer Hamper is $45.00 plus shipping

Do you have a present in mind for a foodie loving friend, or something you have an eye on for your foodie-loving-self? I’d love to know! Merry Christmas x
